This is definitely a one use kind of pen. I used it at my wedding, and it worked just fine, but by the next day, the whole pen detached from the base and I can't get it back in. The pen (ink) still works, but the design is pretty cheap. I only bought this for the wedding, so I'm not too sad, but I would never buy this pen for an office, or somewhere it will be used often.

I have seen this pen in store for $9.99 (more in other stores) so when I saw it on Amazon for less I had to buy it. The pen is all plastic of course with a metalic finish but it's actually a very good looking pen and the finish is very nice and very closely resembles a metal pen. I love the ballpoint pen's simple yet elegant look. The ink is black and the base is acrylic but resembles glass. You wouldn't know that it wasn't glass just by looking at it without picking it up to feel the weight and surface.My only concern at first was when I went to try the swivel because many pens that I did try had a swivel that would not stay upright and were flimsy and would fall over. This pen has a very nice swivel that stays in whichever position you put it in. I wanted a pen that would look elegant so that guests would accidently take it and this one works for me.
